Pro Preference GW400 Driver

More and more golf clubs these days focus on ease of use and max distance performance. Generally speaking, while there is nothing wrong with that, many times these performance features will come at the expense of stability, control and feel. grindworks understands that there are still better players, stronger players and faster swingers who need more than just a big head with huge sweet spot. These golfers need stable golf clubs that will not only produce good distance but also great control and feel.

grindworks introduces its new Pro Preference woods, specifically designed for better and stronger players who not only want distance performance but need stability and control. These golfers can also appreciate great feel and sound at impact.  The Pro Preference GW400 driver is a compact 400cc head designed with a mid-deep face. The deeper face allows golfers to tee the ball up higher and NOT have to hit up on the ball to achieve launch. The deeper face allows the player to swing through the ball naturally and allow the clubs’s loft to work as intended.

The GW400 moves a lot of its weight to the sole to lower center of gravity. At the same time, we have ensured that the CG is not too deep, to the point where it causes too much spin and launch. The GW400 achieves this by using 3 tungsten weights in the sole one in back middle and two weights moved forward towards the heel and toe. This moves the CG slightly forward while still expanding the sweet spot. This also creates a reduced gravity angle, which prevents the head from rotating square too quickly preventing stronger players from pulling or hooking the ball.

The lower lofts (starting at 8.5*) and the square face angle allow better players to create a more penetrating trajectory which they can control and pinpoint. The face is made slightly thicker to provide a soft sponge like feel at impact and a more subtle sound unlike many larger head drivers today which can be excessively loud or metallic sounding.

As always, grindworks clubs are built to spec. In the case of the GW400, the head weight is progressive with the 8.5 being 204g, 9.5 202g and 20.5 200g. While on the heavier side, this allows better players to build a slightly shorter club length for the lower lofts which result in more control.

Majin Adjustable Driver

Create YOUR distance.

The new grindworks majin follows in the footsteps of the highly successful Matrix driver, the collaboration between grindworks and our sister company A.Japa. The Matrix was an all around performer with superb distance and adjustability at the hosel. majin takes the Matrix performance and design to an all new level. We’ve moved the adjustability away from the hosel to the sole of the driver by implementing 2 x moveable 6 gram weights. We call this design GRAVITY FLOW INTEGRATION (GFI). The removal of an adjustable hosel brings the weight back to the sole of the driver and away from the neck for more stable and consistent performance. GFI has 2 primary modes, BALLISTIC and WIDE which allow players to choose between a more penetrating trajectory with a focus on stability or a higher big carry distance which focuses on ease of use.

Weights in the forward position puts majin in BALLISTIC mode, for a more powerful penetrating trajectory.

Best scenarios:-Windy day requires low trajectory drive
-Firm course results in big run out
-Narrow hole needs more tight control
-More powerful player wants to keep trajectory down

Weights in the back position puts majin in WIDE mode, creating the largest possible sweet spot and a higher big carry trajectory.

Best scenarios:
– Maximum carry required
– Maximum forgiveness and ease of use
– Slower swing speed needs help with launch

The combination of both weights can also vary/alternate putting more bias towards heel or toe creating a draw or fade trajectory ie by moving the heel weight all the way back and the toe weight all the way forward, the driver moves into more of a draw biased setup.

In our testing, the new majin has a larger sweet spot than the Matrix resulting in more ball speeds and more forgiveness. Golfers who play on courses affected by wind and weather as well as courses that vary in ground hardness will appreciate the ability to adjust the head for optimal performance based on the conditions.

Matched with the high strength Titanium body, the cold forged DAT55  face is able to flex and recover quickly, providing s a soft yet crisp feel and sound as well as more spring effect for that sensation of the ball jumping off the face. The laser milled face stabilizes spin in wet conditions for more consistency and control.

At grindworks we believe that golf clubs must not only perform on the course but feel great doing so.
The majin driver can be custom built to each players own specs.  Please contact your grindworks dealer for more details.

Phoenix Driver Hi-COR

Maximum distance, maximum COR.

The all new Phoenix Hi Cor driver uses a super thin ultra high COR face for the ultimate in spring effect. the variable thickness forged SP700 Titanium cup face increases the clubs repulsion power and widens the sweet spot in every direction. The result is higher ball speeds over a greater area of the face increasing distance and forgiveness. SP700 produces a soft yet crisp feel at impact as the ball springs off the face like a sling shot.

The Phoenix driver with its Hi Cor face is non conforming to SLE rules and is aimed at recreational players who want the ultimate in distance without worrying about the rules. In order to achieve this super spring effect, the SP700 face is forged very thin for maximum flex and is rated for players with driver swing speeds of 38m/s or 85mph OR LESS.

The Phoenix Hi Cor driver can be custom built to each players own specs. Optional weights are also available for the head which can help create the desired swing weight for each player. Please contact your grindworks dealer for more details. An original grindworks Phoenix headcover is included with each head.
