Variant ONE Fairway Wood

Feel, Stability, Distance and Forgiveness

The grindworks VARIANT ONE Fairway Wood is designed for easy play both of the deck and off the tee. Dual Power Channels, one in the sole and one in the crown, help increase the spring effect of the face and expand the sweet spot to minimize distance lost on off center strikes.

Removable tungsten weighting on toe and heel allow for subtle tuning of the head’s bias while heavy internal back weighting help with an easy launch and optimal spin. We opted for a Hi Strength Stainless Body as the rigid structure allows new K301 forged face to create better feel and more efficient energy transfer. The traditional shape matched with mid height face create a pleasant but confident feel at address.

We focused on creating a fairway wood with lofts we believe are more in demand in this modern day and age. A strong 3 wood at 13.5* for those better more powerful players who want a penetrating wood off the deck or tee, as well as a strong 5 wood at 17.5* for players who prefer not to use a longer length 3 wood but still want distance. Make those par 5’s in two with the grindworks  VARIANT ONE Fairway Wood.

Pro Preference GW300 Fairway Wood

Stability and direction.

More and more golf clubs these days focus on ease of use and max distance performance. Generally speaking, while there is nothing wrong with that, many times these performance features will come at the expense of stability, control and feel. grindworks understands that there are still better players, stronger players and faster swingers who need more than just a big head with huge sweet spot. These golfers need stable golf clubs that will not only produce good distance but also great control and feel.

grindworks introduces its new Pro Preference woods, specifically designed for better and stronger players who not only want distance performance but need stability and control. These golfers can also appreciate great feel and sound at impact.  The Pro Preference GW300 is a smaller fairway wood with a mid-deep face. The deeper face allows golfers to tee up the ball as well as hit it off the deck in various conditions.

The GW300 moves a lot of its weight to the sole to lower center of gravity. At the same time, we have ensured that the CG is not too deep, to the point where it causes too much spin and launch. The GW300 achieves this by using 3 tungsten weights in the sole one in back middle and two weights moved forward towards the heel and toe. This moves the CG slightly forward while still expanding the sweet spot. This also creates a reduced gravity angle, which prevents the head from rotating square too quickly preventing stronger players from pulling or hooking the ball.

The FW300 features a 14* 3W and a 17* 5w and along the square face angle allow better players to create a more penetrating trajectory which they can control and pinpoint. The face is made slightly thicker to provide a soft sponge like feel at impact and a more subtle sound.

Phoenix Fairway Wood

Easy distance fairway wood.

The new grindworks Phoenix series is a premium line of performance golf clubs made for golden age golfers, in other words, senior golfers with a lifetime of golfing experiences. With many years of experiences of his own, grindworks club designer Doc Niimi has devoted his focus to studying the art of golf and has created this special line of clubs with a focus on feeling as well as performance. The Phoenix series specifically targets male golfers 60 years and older and lady golfers of any age who want that extra distance and forgiveness.

To compliment the original release of the Phoenix Driver Hi-Cor, we’ve added fairway woods and utilities designed to carry over that same ease of use and distance performance.

The FW and UT are both weighted for easy high launch draw ball trajectories. The deep center of gravity of he FW makes it easy to launch the ball off the turf or off the tee. The shallow face also makes it easier to catch the ball in the sweet spot which helps increase smash factor and ball speeds. A larger gravity angle helps the head rotate to the ball square, minimizing shots right and improving impact for better distance and direction.

The Phoenix Fairway Wood also features higher lofts and larger heads, all to help promote more confidence and ease of use.
