Dear Andrew
Apologies for the delay in writing this; the past 3 months have been rather hectic!
Firstly my thanks for the very enjoyable afternoon spent with you in
Desborough. Your advice and recommendations have proved invaluable and I'm extremely pleased with my new driver, wedge and altered irons. I've even learned to like the lime green grips!
I didn't find time to practice before using the clubs and have only managed 6 rounds since collecting them. After a couple of very poor scores things are improving. Yesterday I scored par or bogey from the 10th to 17th, finishing gross 6 over for the back 9 off 24 hcp!
I'd given up on drivers but you were right about being able to use a
properly fitted driver. You were also right to persuade me to try a square driver and generous in offering to change it if I didn't like it. The ProTi2 square driver is easy to align and hit and goes a lot further than my previous driving club (3 wood). The Designer 52 degree gap wedge is becoming a favourite club. It is easy to use, opens up nicely and has lovely feel. With the irons there are noticeable improvements in both trajectory and distance since you fitted shorter Nippon shafts and Karakal grips of the right size. You were right about being able to reach 150 yards with the 5 iron, something I couldn't do previously. It is a club I am starting to use more frequently. The heavier putter grip plus your putting tips have improved my putting. Both distance control and accuracy are much
better. You thought there might be a gap between my 7 wood and 5 iron. I think there is and it is something we can sort out in due course, when I return to do the ball selection, although I have changed to the Bridgestone RX.
How I wish I'd learned of your existence 10 years ago. I'd fallen for the ads of the leading brands and kept on buying and changing a number of clubs which were totally unsuitable for me. For the first time I'm really satisfied with quality products, tailor made for me which provide an opportunity to improve and make the game more enjoyable.
Again many thanks Andrew.
Best wishes
Keith
