Andy Griffiths first came to Designer Golf four years ago aged 11 and
playing off a handicap of 22. He has exclusively used clubs prepared for him
by ourselves since that initial visit and is now playing off 2.7...
Hey Andy
During the summer I was entered (1 under 16 year old from each course in UK)
to play in regional qualifying for the Daily Express Andalucia European
Junior Open, this was held at Batchworth Park Golf Club where I shot 1 over
par, this qualified me through in 1st place to the final in Spain (26th
October - 2 November.) 21 boys and 9 girls from UK were at the competition.
We started with watching the Professional Volvo Masters Golf competition at
Valderrama before moving to the el Rompido resort near to the Portugal
border (Huelva) for 5 days, after the practise rounds we played a round on
the North and South courses, my scores of 77 and 78 (Par 72) put me in 7th
place although the tough conditions meant that the standard scratch of the
courses went up considerably and scoring wasn't very low. I was safely in
the top 12 to play the final round of the competition to be held at
Valderrama Golf Club. We played from the back tees the same as the pros only
4 days before. I then scored 76 (4 over) at Valderrama, which moved me to a
final position of 5th. Sadly this was the end of the week and back to
practising in the colder and wetter conditions of England!!!
My handicap now is 2.7 after the adjustments from Spain and a 1 under medal
when i came back! After my meeting with a consultant r.e American Golf
Scholarships i have been told my academics are good and I need to be a +1
golfer in 2 years. So more hard work for the future.
I hope to see you again soon, I am becoming alot stronger from the physical
golf training I am doing as well as the Pilates, so it would be good to
check weight of clubs, shaft flex as well.
I hope you get this e-mail, and look forward to talking soon and perhaps
arranging a visit.
Thanks again...
