The week started well with the Monday Texas Scramble. Anne Fern and Tracey Higgins started the prize haul with their teams coming first and second respectively. Anne's team started with 5 level pars then had a run of 9 birdies and an eagle to win with a net 57.7.
Tuesday was the first round of the individual stableford. Up for grabs for the overall winner (of men and ladies) was a three night break at the Penina Hotel. Off a handicap of 11 Trevor Higgins was the leading man after day one with 36 points. The ladies was led by Anne Fern off 11 with 33 points and Tracey Higgins also off 11 was second with 30 points.
Thursday was the second and final round of the individual stableford the field played in order of score from day one. Trevor came in with 30 points giving him a total of 66. Tracey came in with a fantastic 36 points giving her a total of 66 points and Anne Fern came in with 35 points giving her a total of 68 and the outright lead and the winner of the golfing break at Penina.
Friday was the 4 ball betterball competition. What a final result. Trevor and Tracey Higgins score of 41 points was narrowly beaten by Anne and Melvyn Fern with 42 points. The battle over the last three holes was the closest you would want to see and the light was fading fast, but a thoroughly enjoyable week was had by all.
We have all had Designer Golf custom built clubs and all seen great improvements in our game. And with the sun on our backs we couldn't have asked for a better week. |
