| A computerised club developed as a training aid for pros and individuals is being used by custom build clubmaker Designer Golf to assess clients.
The Midlands-based company is the first in the UK to use the technology offered by SmartSwing products to provide vital information necessary to custom build a bespoke club tailored to the requirements of an individual player.
The club records up to 100 swings made with it, measuring:
- Shaft load
- Swing speed at release and also at impact
- Tempo
- Face angle on impact
- Swing plane, both hands and clubhead
The information is then transferred by a wireless link device to a computer where it is stored and recorded in a series of tables and graphics for analysis - enabling the clubmaker to see the pattern of an individual's swing.
"The statistics the SmartSwing system provides are vital in ensuring a club is built to suit the way a person plays. It gives more information than can be seen with the naked eye and really aids the clubmaker in his task of crafting a club to the individual who is going to play with it," says Designer Golf Managing Director and one of the only Professional Clubmaker's in the UK Andrew Ash.
