I must have driven past the Designer Golf Shop a hundred times or more over the last couple of years, but I never actually took the time to stop and have a look. This was a very big mistake.
During this time I bought a driver, 3 wood and set of irons from a large and 'reputable' discount golf chain. These clubs were supposedly measured and fitted to me as an individual. When I eventually ventured into Andrews shop with my driver I found that the grips were too thin, the shaft too flexible, and too long!
Over the next 3 months Andrew refitted my 3 wood, custom built a 7 wood (What a beauty. It now comes to bed with me in place of my wife) and a set of irons with titanium shafts (these have taken the place of my daughter). You guessed it, the clubs fitted by the 'reputable' store were too short and had grips that were way too thin.
The end result? Clubs that feel incredibly comfortable in the hand, inspire confidence when you are over the ball, and that produce exclamations that can't go to print when you tell your playing partners how much you paid (or more to the point saved) for these wonders.
